I made these charts right after the parliamentary election, and they illustrate two key changes in the composition of the National Parliament: first, a consolidation of power among fewer parties and coalitions. Second, the more even distribution of power amongst those parties.
The first graph makes me think of the 2006 Lusophone Games fustal match (five-a-side soccer) pitting Brazil against Timor Leste. Brazil scored once every 31 seconds; in a 40 minute game, this doesn't make for good soccer. Real competition has its benefits.
